2. Analyse the comparative experiences of decentralization in Brazil, India, and Britain. How do structural and institutional differences shape outcomes?

Assignment - II

Answer the following questions in about 250 words each. (3 × 10 = 30 marks)

1. Explain the main tenets of structural-functionalism in political science and its application to comparative political analysis.

2. Compare federal and unitary systems of government with reference to powers, autonomy, and governance.

3. Examine the nature and implications of political participation in post-authoritarian societies.

सत्रीय कार्य-1

निम्न वर्णनात्मक श्रेणी प्रश्नों के उत्तर लगभग 500 शब्दों (प्रत्येक) में दीजिए। प्रत्येक प्रश्न 20 अंकों का है।

1) उदारवादी लोकतांत्रिक व्यवस्थाओं (liberal democratic regimes) की मुख्य विशेषताओं और कार्यों का वर्णन कीजिए। लोकतांत्रिक संस्थाओं को बनाए रखने में नागरिक और राजनीतिक अधिकारों की क्या भूमिका होती है, समझाइए।

2) ब्राज़ील, भारत और ब्रिटेन में विकेंद्रीकरण (decentralization) के तुलनात्मक अनुभवों का विश्लेषण कीजिए। यह स्पष्ट कीजिए कि संरचनात्मक और संस्थागत अंतर इन देशों में किस प्रकार अलग-अलग परिणाम उत्पन्न करते हैं।

सत्रीय कार्य-II

निम्न मध्यम श्रेणी प्रश्नों के उत्तर लगभग 250 शब्दों (प्रत्येक) में दीजिए। प्रत्येक प्रश्न 10 अंकों का है।

संरचनात्मक-कार्यात्मक दृष्टिकोण (structural-functionalism) के प्रमुख सिद्धांतों को समझाइए। तुलनात्मक राजनीतिक अध्ययन में इसका उपयोग कैसे किया जाता है? 3)
