3) (a) Describe the important properties of a standard normal variable.

(b) Find out the area under the standard normal curve for each of the following (use ztable). Sketch each one of them.

(i) between z = – 0.43 and z = 0.78

(ii) between z = 0.44 and z = 1.50

(iii) to the right of z = – 1.33.

4) Fit a straight line (? = ? + ??) to the following data. Compare the estimated values of the dependent variable with its actual values.

निम्न दीर्घ उत्तर प्रश्नों का उत्तर लगभग 500 शब्दों (प्रत्येक) में दीजिए। प्रत्येक प्रश्न 20 अंक का है। संख्या आधारित प्रश्नों पर शब्द सीमा मान्य नहीं है।

(a) किसी मानक प्रसामान्य चर के महत्वपूर्ण परिगुणों का वर्णन करें।.

(b) निम्नलिखित में से प्रत्येक के लिए मानक प्रसामान्य वक्र के अंतर्गत क्षेत्र ज्ञात करें (z-तालिका का प्रयोग करें)। इनमें से प्रत्येक का संक्षिप्त वर्णन करें।

(i) z= -0.43 और 2 = 0.78 के बीच

(ii) z = 0.44 और 2 = 1.50 के बीच

(iii) z=-1.33 के दाईं ओर।
